DHS Multi-Service Center, Grants Pass
“CIDA’s designs embody our team’s commitment to constructing facilities that integrated into their communities, feature durable materials that limit on-going maintenance, and are flexible for future adaptation.”
Craig Lewis, CCIM
Vice President (former)
MMDC Commercial Real Estate
Description
This 58,000 square foot Green Globes certified build-to-suit multi-service center for the Department of Human Services consolidates local programs serving child protective services, senior and disability services, and help for needy families into one facility. Consolidation into a single building creates operational service delivery efficiencies, fosters collaboration, and provides enhanced accessibility to multiple social service programs.
Taking the key design components of functionality, sustainability, acoustical sensitivity and comfort into account, the facility is easy to navigate with all space on a single level. The design not only incorporates highly flexible interior layouts that can accommodate future growth and variable staffing levels but provides potential for future building expansion. Finish material selection and drainage / landscape patterns for potential infill areas were designed to protect the initial investment and reduce the impact of expansion.
This project was a Design-Build collaboration with Fortis Construction. Over the years, CIDA and Fortis have developed a strong partnership, having successfully teamed up on numerous Design-Build projects.
