Morrow County Administration Building
It is with pleasure that I highly recommend CIDA Architects and Engineers for design and construction services. Their thoughtfulness to understand our programs and their impact on the community was second to none. The entire team took the time to fully understand each programmatic component, including design elements and ideas to optimize workflows, staff comfort and quality public interactions. Throughout the process, they were highly engaged and consistently looking out for our best interests.
– Don Russell, Retired Commissioner
Morrow County Board of Commissioners
Description
The Morrow County Administration building replaced an existing, much smaller, Annex Building with a new 13,700 square foot single level building to serve as a hub for North County services including Planning, Justice Court, Sheriff’s Department (with vehicle and evidence storage), Veteran’s, Juvenile, and Transportation Department Services. The development includes a welcoming entry plaza, large conference room for after-hours public meetings, and drop-in Commissioner offices. The design responds to local conditions and surroundings to establish itself as a hallmark of the community.
This project has many stakeholders as it brings multiple county departments into one building. This includes the County Sheriff, Veteran’s Affairs, Juvenile Office, Justice Court with support offices, multipurpose conference room, Commissioner’s Offices, Planning, and Transportation Departments. Learning the needs and restrictions of each stakeholder and including them in the design to coordinate the best space for the budget has been a rewarding experience.
The procurement method of this project was Design-Build. CIDA and Fortis worked together from the onset of this project to see it through completion.
