OMD Regional Armory Emergency Enhancement Project (RAEEP)
Description
The RAEEP project, delivered through a design-build partnership with Kirby Nagelhout Construction Company, includes a comprehensive scope of work—project management, design, review, value engineering, construction, testing, inspections, and commissioning—across four OMD facilities. The focus is on delivering structural improvements and seismic upgrades to ensure the Salem and Pendleton sites can withstand major seismic events.
SITE #1 — Army Aviation Support Facility #1
This location includes several key buildings:
- Deibert Flight Operations Center, also home to the 102nd Civil Support Team (CST), is a 39,500-square-foot steel-framed facility built in 2010.
- Hangar #1, approximately 34,580 square feet, was built in 1972 using a mix of concrete/CMU construction with a steel-framed roof.
- Hangar #2, roughly 45,775 square feet, was constructed in 1976 with similar materials.
- The aviation fuel storage facility at this site will also receive seismic upgrades.
SITE #2 — Army Aviation Support Facility #2
This facility includes a combined hangar, maintenance space, and flight operations center housed in a 46,750-square-foot building. Built in 1996, it’s constructed with CMU and steel framing and a steel-framed roof. A separate aviation fuel storage facility on-site is also included in the seismic upgrade scope.
