East Side Athletic Club Addition

Description

The original building for East Side Athletic in Milwaukie is a concrete tilt-up structure originally built as a racquetball complex. This project is a 3,000 square foot stick frame addition housing a new atrium, waiting area and yoga studio, and serves as an updated primary façade for the building. The wedge-shaped addition was built structurally independent of the main building with seismic expansion joints spanning the gap between them. In addition to a new main stair connecting the two levels, the project included the incorporation of a new hydraulic elevator.
