BSD Merlo Station HS – Career Technical Education

December 22, 2020 by

Description

Merlo Station High School’s Career Technical Education program offers students a pre-apprentice introduction to the construction trades.  Partnering with industry professionals the school envisioned an expansion of the existing program to offer students greater understanding of multiple construction industry professions.  The space is centered on three spaces:  the interior classroom provides traditional classroom instruction, the lab space includes wood working tools and space for framing mockups including running conduit and plumbing, while the exterior program area includes covered welding areas and large sandbox for hands-on trenching and foundation formwork.
