VHA Central Park Place was an honoree for the 2024 DJC Top Project awards. Located on the Veterans Administration campus in Vancouver, Washington, Central Park is a four-story, 126-unit apartment building which provides subsidized housing for veterans, specifically those experiencing homelessness, substance abuse, or requiring mental health services. Exterior work included extensive site improvements to increase on-site parking capacity, reconfiguration of resident outdoor common areas based on current programmatic needs, a full exterior re-clad and envelope improvements, as well as partial building additions to accommodate new units. Interior work included updating common areas, improving building systems, improving energy efficiency as well as improving accessibility throughout. The scope also included significant upgrades to the 100+ single resident occupancy (SRO)- and studio-style units, including new finishes throughout, casework, lighting, and HVAC.
