Rebekah (Bekah) Huschka is an Associate Structural Engineer at CIDA, where she has spent her entire 10-year career. Beginning as a quiet entry-level engineer, she has grown into a strong, people-focused leader within the structural department. As her supervisor and mentor, the nominator has watched her develop into a dependable design partner whose leadership and humility set the tone for her team.
Bekah’s accomplishments at CIDA are significant. She earned her Professional Engineer license in 2021 and was promoted to Associate in 2025. Known as a “lighthouse” within the department, she serves as the Structural Revit Lead and is a trusted resource for colleagues, clients, and contractors. Her project experience spans everything from small technical jobs to large, complex facilities—including a recent transitional housing project where she skillfully guided the team through construction challenges. Her collaborative, ego-free approach consistently elevates both project outcomes and team dynamics.
Beyond her technical role, Bekah is deeply engaged in the community. She volunteers with Vineyard USA Ministries and 24/7 Prayer’s outreach efforts for the homeless, and participates actively in CIDA’s volunteer program, including food-drive initiatives. She is also a dedicated mentor for junior engineers and a bridge between architects and engineers, fostering open communication, joint problem-solving, and respectful learning environments.
Bekah has led meaningful change within CIDA, especially through her involvement in the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee and her leadership in expanding Building Information Modeling practices within the structural team. Her leadership style—defined by clarity, empathy, calm under pressure, and a focus on people—has earned her admiration from colleagues and clients alike. Known for stepping in without hesitation when teams face challenges, she consistently goes above and beyond to support others. Her combination of technical excellence, compassionate leadership, and community-minded spirit makes her a standout honoree for the DJC Women of Vision Award.
